60% market share of Ceylon tea in Latvia
According to Sri Lanka' Tea Commissioner based in Moscow - Russian Federation, Upali Kahandawa traditionally Baltic region is classified as a heavy coffee consuming society. As at today, the consumption ratio of the tea to coffee in Latvia is 20:80. The rapid improvement in the economy of the Baltic Region during the last two years indicates very positive signs for the expansion of Sri Lanka's tea exports in the future. The market share of Ceylon Tea in Latvia is approximately 60% taking into consideration direct and indirect importers. The Sri Lanka Tea Board has extend financial assistance to leading Sri Lanka tea companies to promote their brand along with Lion Logo in the Baltic Region.
