| Two all time record prices at Colombo Tea Auctions
Tea broker John Keells announced the two All Time Record Prices recorded at the Tea Auctions held November 29, 2000.
The first by Kenilworth Estate with Rs. 312.00 per kg for its BOP Special grade, which improved on the previous best, established by the same estate just two weeks back. This is the highest ever price for a BOP grade in the Medium Grown Category. Ranfer Teas (Pvt.) Ltd., are the successful buyers whilst Watawala Plantations Limited are the managing agents of this plantation.
The second All Time Record Price was registered when an invoice of Hingalgoda Estate realised a price of Rs. 185.00 for the Pekoe Fannings grade, improving on the previous best by the same estate in two consecutive contracts within the last week. Unilever Ceylon Ltd. purchased this consignment. Hingalgoda is managed by R.P.K. Management Services (Pvt.) Ltd.
